Rams Triumph Over Martin Luther Knights

Box Score Minneapolis, MN — The Rams took action for their second game of the weekend in another conference matchup. Right back at it after a tough loss last night, the North Central University (NCU) men's basketball team took to the court against the Martin Luther College (MLC) Knights. With impressive skill and hard work, the Rams were able to secure the win with a lead of 89-50, leaving them with a conference record of 3-2.

A bit of a slower start for both the Rams and the Knights, Caden Freetly pulled through with strong defense to get the game up and running. It was an intense battle for a while with the Knights breathing down their necks, but  Barnabas Preble was able to light a match for the Rams that MLC could not keep pace with. Preble hit back-to-back three's followed by a smooth reverse lay-up to take all the momentum in the contest. As the half was closing, Cameron Thomas did not let scoring five more points to add to the Rams pressure. With the buzzer sounding, the Blue and Gold would head to the locker room with the lead at 39-27.

Coming in to finish what they started, the Rams showed the Knights that they were not going to give it to them easy. NCU put the pressure on right out of the gates, going on a 21-6 run out of the half to put the game away. The deficit was roughly 25 points with just ten minutes remaining in the game. With such a large lead, the Rams were able to see some fresh faces with the ball. we got to witness Carrington McNeal seize his opportunity on the court and score nine points for NCU, all while defending the ball and supporting his teammates in just five and a half minutes on the court. All Rams players that dressed for the game this evening were able to get in the game and every player was able to find points in the contest. With push and pull from both sides, the men of the NCU basketball team concluded the game with a 39 point lead, ending the weekend on a high note at the Clark-Danielson gymnasium.
