Minneapolis, MN -- After falling on the road in Superior, the North Central University (NCU) men's soccer team would come home to host the Crown College (CC) Polars. In the first meeting between these two squads, Crown would gain the 4-2 victory in St. Bonifacius. Today, the Polars would shut out the Rams as they were able to claim a 2-0 victory.
In the first half, Crown was able to get a couple of early shots in the first few minutes of the game. The Polars would find the back of the net in the 11th minute of a handball resulting in a penalty kick. This would put Crown up 1-0 over North Central. NCU's offense could not get past Crown's defense as the Rams were held to just three shots in the first half. Crown would go into halftime with a 1-0 lead over North Central.
In the second half, the Polars would get lots of shots early as they held on to their momentum from the first half. Within the first seven minutes of the second half, Crown was able to get six shots off with four of them being on goal. Rams goalie Jerad Buse would not allow any of those shots past him as he added four saves to his total of 8 on the evening. Eventually, in the 69th minute, the Polars would earn a corner kick and find the back of the net to give themselves a 2-0 lead. The Rams were unable to break through the Polars' defense as they would be held scoreless and fall by a score of 2-0.

The men will host the University of Minnesota Morris in their final regular season game at Elliot Park this fall. Kickoff is set for 3:30 pm on this Wednesday.
