Minneapolis, MN -- The North Central University (NCU) volleyball team continued Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play today as they hosted the Cougars from the University of Minnesota-Morris (UMM). The Rams came into this game looking to end their four-game losing streak but fell short, getting swept by the Cougars with a score of 3-0.
To start set one, things looked pretty even as the teams traded points. However, Morris was able to capitalize off errors by NCU and went on two separate 4-0 runs in the first set. This would give the Cougars all the momentum they needed to stay in control of set one. Morris would not give up the lead once in the first set, eventually taking down the Rams by a score of 25-18. After winning set one, the Cougars would not look back as they took sets 2 and 3 from the Rams winning by scores of 25-12 and 25-14. UMM owned most statistical categories, winning the kills battle 36-14, aces 11-4, and assists 30-12. Sydney Carlson would lead the Rams offensively with 6 kills and 2 aces while Katie Martin would lead in digs with 10. North Central would fall 3-0 to MN-Morris.
