Minneapolis, MN -- The North Central University (NCU) men's soccer team hosted its second home game of the week tonight, this time against the Bethany Lutheran College (BLC) Vikings. The Rams would look to bounce back after two consecutive losses to MLC and Crown College. Unfortunately, the Rams would be unable to generate any offense and fall by a score of 6-0.
BLC was able to take control of this game quickly as they were able to score their first goal of the game in just the 3rd minute. They would score a minute later as they opened up an early 2-0 lead over the Rams. The Vikings would dominate time of possession and were able to get 21 shots off in the first 45 minutes. Despite facing 21 shots, keeper Jerad Buse was able to limit the damage by only allowing two goals picking up 8 saves. At the end of the half, Bethany Lutheran would go into the break with a 2-0 lead over the Rams.
Coming out of halftime, the Vikings would keep their foot on the gas as they were able to score a goal 8 seconds into the second half and extend their lead to 3. BLC would score three more goals in the 53rd, 58th, and 86th minutes as the NCU defense could not keep up. Buse would have another solid half in the net as he was able to limit the damage picking up 11 saves. However, offensively the Vikings would limit NCU to just 7 total shots on the night, 3 of those being on target. As time ran out, the Bethany Lutheran would take the 6-0 win over the Rams.
