Women's Basketball Earns Another Big Win

St. Bonifacius, MN -- The North Central University (NCU) women's basketball team matched up with Crown College (CC) this Friday for another UMAC away game. NCU came out with a strong win in their last contest against this opponent and tonight was no different. The Rams pull out another conference win, dominating the Polars 74-61.

From the jump, North Central came out with the momentum. Kaitlyn VanderPloeg starting the offensive streak with a couple of good looks. The Ram's second unit continued to keep the pressure on with Destiny Hines sinking 3 consecutive shots from beyond the arch, extending the lead to a 16-point gap. After the first quarter timeout, Crown responded to their deficit with an 8 point run, but it wasn't enough to turn the tables. At the end of the opening half, the Rams would lead by by 17, with the score being 48-31.

After the break, Crown dialed in from downtown and managed to bring the score back to single digits. That only led to Caitlyn Ryan upping her tenacious play on both ends, as the Rams finally responded after a four-minute drought. Both squads went back and forth in the middle of fourth as CC tried to hang onto hope. Bryce Brewster came up with a huge momentum-shifting "and-one" as three minutes remained. After that, the Polars couldn't crawl back from a double-digit deficit and finished the night on a loss. NCU women's basketball takes another W, finishing with a score of 74-61
