Minneapolis, MN -- On Monday evening, NCU's League of Legends team took on Butler University. It was a strong effort from the Rams, battling from the beginning until the end. Even with a strong effort, they would eventually lose both games one and two to Butler.
Game 1 NCU Loses
• The game began with an early pick by Butler's defense. This led to both the jungler and mid-laner from NCU being picked off.
• It was 10 minutes in that the Rams showed the first signs of cracking. NCU lost the first team fight of the game falling behind in gold and players.
• North Central would end up losing their first tower at 14 minutes with the second and third towers falling a minute apart.
• During each of these fights, NCU was able to make it costly for Butler taking two towers in each of the three fights.
• In attempt to try to turn the tide, the Rams were able to secure the second Rift Herald.
• Unfortunately, NCU was unable to turn this objective win into taking a tower. The Rams would eventually be forced to fight in their base where Butler would secure the win.
Game 2 NCU Loses
• NCU would fare slightly better in the second game with the K/D more evenly split.
• The Rams would secure the first Rift Herald uncontested.
• North Central would then try to deny Butler a lead by contesting the dragon from the river. Butler, having already set up, would come out with the better result from this team fight forcing NCU to reset.
• The Rams were able to successfully reset and eventually were able to take the first tower of the match.
• NCU would then falter as Butler would respond quickly taking 3 towers in rapid succession.
• The pressure from Butler in the middle and bottom lanes would prove too great and NCU would be found once again fighting in base.
• With North Central unable to find space and opening the team would eventually lose critical fights in base and Butler would quickly close out the series.
