Mankato, MN -- North Central's Baseball team (NCU) finished up their season against Bethany Lutheran (Vikings). Game one was a continuation from the previous day which was called due to rain delay. The Rams would lose both games, ending their year at 4-29.
Game one:
The Rams started off the game with a quick run in the first inning. Kyle Huerth was the first runner on the day, getting on base via a walk. He would end up stealing second base, putting himself into scoring position. Daniel Montana also drew a walk, and Teagan Burch followed with a single up the middle scoring Huerth. NCU took a 1-0 by the end of the first. Bethany Lutheran would get baserunners on and knock them in when they needed it. They scored ten unanswered runs taking a 10-1 lead. In the top of the seventh, Montana would hit a two-out double, and Burch singled scoring Montana. North Central would try to mount a comeback in the ninth. After a Montana single and Burch Walk, Julian Encinas singled, giving the Rams bases loaded with two outs. Michael Escalante drew a walk, bringing a runner in. Christian Rodriguez singled down the right field line, scoring two runs and bringing the game to 10-5. The Rams would fly out ending the game 10-5.
Game two:
North Central University would go down 1,2,3 in the first inning. The Rams couldn't figure out the Bethany Lutheran pitching. They would draw walks but would struggle to hit the ball. NCU would only tally one hit from Mike Maanum. The Vikings would win game two 11-0.
