St. Bonifacius, MN -- NCU Softball traveled to Crown College (Polars) to finish their season. NCU was considered the home team, even though they were playing at Crown College. They would only score one run on the day.
Game 1 Recap:
Carla Mendoza started on the mound, and the Polars were quick to put up runs. They would score two in the top of the first. The defense would come together in the top of the second, but fall apart in the later innings. Crown would get another run in the third, holding a 3-0 lead. Katrina Diaz singled and would advance to second on the play. She would get to third on the next batter. Maci Tripp hit a ground ball to second, scoring Diaz. The Rams looked promising getting more runners on but failed to get them in. The Polars would unleash the bats, scoring six in the top of the fourth, taking a 9-1 lead. The Blue and Gold would fail to score runs, making the game end in five innings with a score of 9-1.
Game 2 Recap:
Mendoza would once again pitch for the Rams in game two, and it was more of the same as game one. Crown College would put up four runs in the first frame of the game. Crown would go on to score more runs and hold the Rams' bats to three hits in the game. North Central would lose game two 8-0.
