Minneapolis, MN -- North Central University (NCU) Volleyball hosted the Crown College Polars to open up Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play this afternoon. The Rams were able to stay undefeated on the season as they took down the Polars with a score of 3-1.
The Rams took an exciting set one with a score of 26-24, despite committing 10 total errors. NCU would drop set two with a score of 24-26, as they committed 11 attack errors compared to just 3 by Crown. At set point, the Rams would allow the Polars to rattle off four straight points to steal the set and even the series at 1-1. Bouncing back in sets three and four, the Blue and Gold would clean up some of those attack errors, committing only 11 in the two final sets. North Central would go on to get its first UMAC win of the year as they defeated Crown 3-1 at home.
Freshman hitters Sydney Carlson (Blaine, MN) and Montanna Sykora (Appleton, WI) would lead NCU in kills with 17 and 12, respectfully. Junior setter Grace Brigson (West Salem, WI) tallied 29 assists on the day, while sophomore libero Maci Tripp (Waupaca, WI) racked up 31 digs.
