Mankato, MN -- The North Central University (NCU) women's soccer team traveled to Mankato to take on the Bethany Lutheran College (BLC) Vikings for the second time this season. In their first meeting, the Vikings had a strong showing in Minneapolis as they won convincingly at 5-0. Today, NCU had a hard time containing the Bethany attack as the Vikings totaled 22 shots on goal in a 10-0 win.
Goalkeeper
Erma Ramirez got the start in net for North Central. The junior was tested early as she make two saves in the first 6 minutes. Nearing 8 minutes of play, Bethany Lutheran cashed in with their first goal of the contest. Looking to respond, NCU went on the attack as midfielder
Paula Capili fired a shot on goal that was reeled in by the BLC keeper. In the 15th minute, the Vikings found the back of the net once more to increase their lead to two scores. Bethany tacked on 3 more goals by the end of the first half on 20 total shots.
Paula Capili was the only Ram to get anything going offensively with 3 shots (2 SOG) in the first. The Vikings led 5-0 at the break.
BLC got right back to work out of the break, scoring in the 49th minute to made it 6-0. In the next ten minutes of action, the Rams would break down defensively, allowing a total of 5 second-half goals and the deficit to surpass double-digits. Sophomore

Erma Ramirez totaled 12 saves in the 1-0 loss to BLC.

The team travels to Mount Vernon, Iowa for a mid-season non-conference game this Wednesday, October 16th against Cornell College. Kickoff is slated for 4:00 PM.
