Davenport, FL -- After losing to Suffolk University last night, the North Central University (NCU) baseball team took on the Blueboys from Illinois College (IC). The Blueboys would get out in front of the Rams early and shut out the Rams' offense all night. NCU only mustered three hits as they fell to Illinois College by a final score of 8-0.
In the top of the second, freshman Nick Julian recorded NCU's first hit with a single to right center. However, the Rams could not rally to score any runs. The Blueboys had a big second inning as they were able to gain a 6-0 lead over the Rams. They would get two more in the bottom of the fifth as they took an 8-0 lead over NCU. North Central's second hit would not come until the top of the seventh when Julian Encinas hit a double to right center. Nick Juilan would then single to left, but the IC would retire the inning as the Rams left two runners on base. Illinois College held this 8-0 lead through the rest of the game as their pitching staff shut out out the Rams on offense. North Central would go a combined 3-30 at the plate and struck out 13 times leaving 5 runners on base.
