New Ulm, MN -- The North Central University (NCU) baseball team resumed Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play this afternoon as they headed down to New Ulm to begin a three-game series with the Knights of Martin Luther College (MLC). The Rams run-ruled the Knights as starting pitcher Christian Rodriguez threw a complete game on his way to an 11-1 win.
The Rams put the pressure on early scoring 4 runs in the first inning. NCU took advantage of an error from MLC and recorded 2 hits to plate those 4 runs. The Knights would be able to answer back in the home half with a run of their own. However, they would not score for the rest of the game as Christian Rodriguez found his tempo on the mound. The Rams continued their strong offensive showing as they scored 7 more runs on 5 hits. North Central also showed aggression on the bases as they recorded 7 stolen bases as a team. Lorenzo Bazan (3-3) and Teagan Burch (2-2) both posted perfect showings from the batter's box as they combined for 4 RBIs and 3 runs. The Rams defeated Martin Luther 11-1 in 7 innings to extend their win streak to three games.
