Morris, MN -- North Central University (NCU) Baseball traveled to Morris for their final Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) series of the year against the University of Minnesota Morris (UMM) Cougars. After taking an early 1-0 lead in the first, the Rams gave up the lead and would never gain it back. Minnesota Morris ran away with this one as they won by a final score of 21-4.
The Rams struck first as they scored one run in the first after Teagan Burch doubled to score Caleb Alfaro. In the bottom of the first, the Cougars tied things up at 1-1. In the next two innings, Morris tacked on 5 more runs to make it 6-1. In the top of the fourth, Willy Cruz walked and Jonah Taylor singled. Jordan Trevino reached first on a walk to load the bases for Michael Escalante, who would single to bring home two runs to cut it to 6-3. In the fifth, UMM tallied 3 hits and was aided by an NCU fielding error to allow 4 runs to score. Taylor RBI singled again in the top of the fifth to score Lorenzo Bazan. From here, it would be all Cougars as they score 11 more runs in the last three innings. The Rams lost game one of the series by a final score of 21-4.
