Box Score Ashland, WI -- Tonight, North Central University (NCU) Men's Basketball made the trip north to Ashland, Wisconsin to play the Lumberjacks of Northland College (NC). In the previous meeting between these two teams last season, North Central took care of business with a 102-75 win on the road. Tonight, the Rams won their third straight conference matchup with their highest point total of the season at 101-69 over the Lumberjacks.
North Central came out on fire offensively, shooting 61.9% (26-42) from the field and 60% (9-15) from three. Senior
Tanner Holtman got things started with a three-pointer on the Rams' first possession. Although the Lumberjacks were able to stay within striking distance early, NCU started to take over and expanded their lead to 24 midway through the first half. The Rams continued to keep their foot on the gas, forcing numerous turnovers that led to fast break buckets on the other end. Holtman and
Nik Feller led the Rams in scoring with 11 points each.
Malik Siggers was a constant facilitator with 6 assists in the first half. NCU led Northland 64-31 heading into the break.
The Rams offensive pace slowed down to start the second half, but they still managed to hold on to a sizable lead. NCU grew that lead to a game-high 43 points after a
Steven Colon three-pointer. Sophomore
Leyton Barr contributed a pair of threes for 6 points off the bench.
Connor Yslas also got going late with a pair of paint finishes. North Central controlled the game from start to finish, forcing 22 turnovers and totaling 17 steals. The Rams won 101-69 with it was all said and done.
