Minneapolis, MN -- North Central University Athletics (NCU) is proud to announce its partnership with the global initiative 30 for Freedom for the 2025 "Unreal Challenge," a week-long fundraising and awareness event taking place tomorrow, November 15th, through Friday, November 21st, designed to raise awareness of human trafficking and generate support for rescue and restoration efforts worldwide. This collaboration is especially meaningful as it is steered by two North Central alumni: Brent Silkey (Founder of 30 for Freedom) and Paul Hurckman (Executive Director of Venture), whose leadership and vision underpin the Unreal Challenge and its mission to combat sexual exploitation and trafficking globally.
A Challenge with Purpose
The Unreal Challenge invites participants to log miles, raise funds, and join a worldwide movement to rescue and restore girls from sex trafficking.
Between November 15-21, NCU's student-athletes across all athletics programs will compete in a friendly, spirited mileage and fundraising contest using the Venture Miles app (or via venturemiles.org) to log their miles and collect donations in support of this cause.
How NCU Will Participate
Beginning this Saturday (November 15), all NCU Athletics teams will begin logging miles and tracking progress.
Friends, family, alumni, and community members are invited to "be a Ram for the week" by joining the challenge, supporting a team, donating, and/or logging your own miles in the spirit of competition and solidarity.
To amplify awareness and community engagement, NCU will host a special outdoor chapel gathering next Wednesday on the soccer field in lieu of the typical chapel service, where the entire student-body will come together to run and log miles as one unified Ram community.
The friendly competition will conclude with a team-award announcement at the close of the week-long challenge on Friday, November 21.
