Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Downs Martin Luther with Balanced Offensive Attack

Minneapolis, MN -- Wednesday, the North Central University (NCU) men's basketball team extended their winning streak over Martin Luther College (MLC) with a commanding 92-71 victory at Clark-Danielson Gymnasium. This marks the Rams' second win over the Knights this season, following their previous 80-57 triumph in New Ulm. A dominant offensive performance, led by Malik Siggers' 20 points, powered NCU to their ninth UMAC conference win this season.

The Rams came out strong, establishing an early lead behind efficient shooting and defensive pressure. Cameron Thomas made his presence felt early with a layup and a tip-in, while Remy Wedgeworth-Brown drained a three-pointer to set the tone. As the half progressed, Tanner Holtman added a pair of threes, helping NCU extend their advantage. Carrington McNeal was active on both ends, grabbing rebounds and forcing turnovers. Despite a push from Martin Luther, the Rams controlled the tempo, shooting 57.1% from the field in the first half. Wedgeworth-Brown and McNeal combined for 16 points in the opening 20 minutes, keeping NCU in front. At the break, the Rams led 49-42.

NCU wasted no time pulling away in the second half, quickly extending their lead to double digits. Malik Siggers took over, scoring 14 of his 20 points after halftime. The Rams capitalized on Martin Luther's lapses on both ends, scoring 56 points in the paint and forcing 14 turnovers. Remy Wedgeworth-Brown and Carrington McNeal continued their efficient play, while Blue Smaller provided a spark off the bench with 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting. The Rams' defense tightened, holding Martin Luther to just 32.4% shooting in the second half, including a 20% clip from three-point range. With under five minutes to go, a fastbreak dunk by McNeal electrified the crowd, sealing the Rams' dominant win at 92-71.
