Saint Paul, MN -- The track & field teams from North Central University (NCU) opened the 2025 outdoor season at the Hamline Invite Meet hosted by Hamline University in Saint Paul. Freshman 
Catelyn Ketterling had an impressive showing today, setting school records in the 100m and 200m, qualifying for the 2025 NCCAA National Championships in both events. On the men's side, freshman 
Hunter Harris broke the 200m record and qualified for the NCCAA National Championships in the men's high jump. Junior 
Tom Cao also added to his list of NCU records, breaking the pole vault record. 
Sprints:
In the women's sprints, freshman 
Catelyn Ketterling led the Rams with a strong 9th place finish in the 100m dash, clocking 12.94 seconds to set a new NCU record. She also placed 8th in the 200m with a time of 26.78 to set yet another school record. These two times qualify her for the NCCAA Outdoor National Championships in the 100m and 200m. Freshman 
Lily Ciske ran a solid 200m as well, finishing in 18th with a time of 27.84. Freshmen 
Joyce Horton and 
Ari Klein made their outdoor sprint debuts, with Horton posting a time of 28.21 in the 200m and Klein running 28.33. In the 400m, junior 
Brycelyn Brewster placed 8th overall with a strong showing of 1:02.90, followed by Ciske (1:04.71), Horton (1:05.36), and Klein (1:06.70), who posted a personal best.
On the men's side, freshman 
Hunter Harris posted a standout performance in the 200m, placing 15th overall with a time of 22.84 seconds and setting a new program record. He also placed 24th in the 100m dash with a time of 11.45 seconds. Junior 
Jaquan Adams posted an impressive showing in his first collegiate event, taking 18th in the 200m with a time of 23.03 seconds. Senior 
Nehemiah Juaire followed closely behind in both sprints, clocking 11.54 in the 100m and 23.77 in the 200m. Freshmen 
Josh Hinson and 
Isaiah Hernandez rounded out the 200m lineup, running 23.87 and 25.39, respectively. Freshman 
Josh Hinson ran 55.22 in the 400m and 
Leighton Helander marked 1:11.73 in the 400m hurdles.
Distance:
Sophomore 
Jessica Redman led the NCU women in the 1500m, finishing 22nd with a time of 5:37.24.
For the men, junior 
Garrett Converse clocked a strong 16:57.13 in the 5000m, placing 30th overall, while sophomore 
David Bjorge ran a personal best time of 18:04.68. 
Leighton Helander and 
Colton Hagen both competed in the 1500m, placing 39th (4:39.16) and 54th (4:49.76), respectively.
Throws:
In the women's javelin, sophomore 
Avah Kraushaar opened her season with a 29th-place finish, throwing 16.17 meters.
The men's team had a busy day in the throws. Sophomore 
Zak Ruhland threw a season-best 42.36m in the javelin to place 5th overall. Juniors 
Caleb Lundt and 
Andre Muteba also performed well, placing 8th and 9th with throws of 39.05m and 38.05m, respectively. Muteba was also active in the shot put, finishing 31st with a personal best of 8.53m. Freshman 
Colton Hagen placed 27th in the shot put (9.48m) and 42nd in the discus with a throw of 24.82m. Lundt followed close behind in 43rd with a mark of 24.04m. In the hammer throw, Muteba placed 29th with a toss of 28.07m.
Jumps:
In the women's high jump, freshman 
Lily Ciske cleared 1.28m to place 13th overall.
On the men's side, freshman 
Hunter Harris led the Rams in the high jump, placing 3rd with a clearance of 1.85m to qualify for the 2025 NCCAA Outdoor National Championships. Senior 
Nehemiah Juaire placed 7th at 1.80m in the high jump. Freshman 
Josh Hinson jumped 1.65m to place 15th. Junior 
Tom Cao posted a mark of 3.75m in the pole vault, finishing in 5th place, and setting a new program record.
 
Looking Ahead:
Up next, the Rams will compete at the Bethel Invite next Saturday, April 12th. The meet will be held at the Royal Stadium in Saint Paul.
