MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA - Thursday, the North Central University men's soccer team returned to Parade Park Field for a nonconference matchup against the University of Wisconsin-Stout. The Rams entered the night looking to build off their 2-0 win over Northwestern but were unable to carry that momentum forward, falling 4-0. NCU remained within one goal at halftime before three second-half goals widened the final margin.
FIRST HALF
North Central held firm throughout much of the opening half.
Rodrigo Rocha generated the Rams' first shot on goal in the 29th minute before
Santiago Grams followed with another attempt on frame less than a minute later. UW-Stout broke through shortly
afterward, scoring in the 31st minute to take a 1-0 advantage.
Goalkeeper
Owen Ellefson helped keep NCU within striking distance. He made several stops late in the half, including a penalty-kick save in the 35th minute, as the Rams entered halftime trailing just 1-0.
SECOND HALF
NCU came out of the break looking for the equalizer, with
Aroda Adris and Grams both putting shots on goal during a stretch of pressure early in the half. The Rams ultimately couldn't capitalize, while UW-Stout added goals in the 51st and 63rd minutes before scoring once more late to produce the 4-0 final.
North Central finished with nine shots and four shots on goal. The Rams' goalkeepers were busy throughout the night, with Ellefson recording five saves in the opening 45:00 before
