UMAC Releases Baseball Postseason Awards

St. Paul, MN -- This morning, the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced the award winners for the 2026 baseball season. The North Central University (NCU) baseball team saw four Rams recognized for their performances and leadership throughout the season, highlighted by senior Juan Rodriguez earning UMAC All-Conference honors.

Juan Rodriguez (Sr., DH/1B | St. Paul, MN) earned UMAC All-Conference recognition after putting together one of the top offensive seasons for the Rams. Rodriguez totaled 33 hits, 19 RBIs,5 doubles, and 4 home runs while posting a .258 batting average and .391 slugging percentage. Juan led the team in total home runs and games played/started (all 37 games). He also ranked among the team leaders with 18 walks and maintained a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage at first base across 80 total chances. Rodriguez additionally turned seven double plays defensively and provided veteran leadership throughout the season.

Dawson Barson (Jr., IF | North Logan, UT) received UMAC Honorable Mention recognition after serving as one of the most consistent players in the Rams lineup and infield. Barson led North Central with 38 hits and 10 doubles while adding 26 runs scored during the season. Dawson led the team in batting average, total at-bats (134), total runs, total hits, total doubles, total bases (51), sac hits (1), games played/started, total assists, and double plays (12). Defensively, the junior shortstop ranked among the conference leaders with 75 assists and turned 12 double plays while appearing in all 37 contests for the Rams.

Darrion Wesley (Fr., IF/P | Mountain View, CA) also earned UMAC Honorable Mention honors following a standout freshman campaign as both a position player and pitcher. Wesley hit .277 on the season with 23 hits, 16 RBIs, 4 doubles, 2 triples, and 3 home runs while posting a .482 slugging percentage. On the mound, Wesley led the Rams with 34 strikeouts and logged 45.2 innings pitched. Defensively, he also impressed with a .992 fielding percentage.

Brayden Pinkerman (Fr., OF | Lakeville, MN) was awarded the UMAC All-Sportsmanship Award. Pinkerman embodied the Rams' values throughout his freshman season through his positive attitude, work ethic, and commitment to his teammates both on and off the field.
