David Babcock

After serving for four years as an assistant coach, David Babcock took the reigns of the NCU baseball team in the 2019-20 school year. During his time as an assistant coach for the Rams from the 2016 to 2019 seasons, Babcock was able to work directly with the fielders and hitters and focus strictly on development. Alongside this, Babcock managed to bring stability to the program and lead the team to the highest-placed UMAC finish in NCU baseball history during the 2018 season.

After starting his collegiate playing career at The Masters College in California, David Babcock played his final two years at North Central University. Originally from Fresno, California Babcock played for the Rams in the spring of 2014 and 2015.

Babcock became the first Rams player to receive Upper Midwest Athletic Conference honors in consecutive seasons. He was twice named to the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Honorable Mention team as an infielder in 2014 and 2015. He was also the recipient of the UMAC Sportsmanship Award for North Central University in 2014.

The former Buchanan H.S. standout ranks 6th all time in North Central University history in career batting average, as he posted a .330 average in a Ram uniform. Babcock also got on base at an impressive .409 clip for his career. On the mound he logged 100 innings pitched en route to four victories.

Babcock earned his Bachelor's of Science in Sports Management from NCU in 2016. He is now currently pursuing his Master of Strategic Leadership at NCU. He and his wife Jess, who is also an NCU alum, live in Minneapolis with their two daughters.
