Tristan Thompson is entering his second season as an assistant coach for North Central's men's basketball program. He is currently a graduate assistant for the Rams, pursuing a master's degree in Strategic Leadership.

During his first season at North Central, Thompson helped lead the Rams to a 9-5 conference record, UMAC playoff berth, and NCCAA D2 National Runner-Up finish.

Prior to coaching for the Rams, Thompson spent one year coaching for the Presentation College Saints in Aberdeen, SD.  His roles included managing the varsity reserve team, assisting the varsity team, and recruitment. Thompson joined the Saints following the completion of his bachelor’s degree in sports management and coaching from the University of Northwestern in St. Paul, MN. Thompson was a four-year varsity men’s track & field athlete, ran a single season of varsity cross country, and spent time with the men’s basketball team during his tenure at Northwestern.

Thompson is a native of Spicer, MN, and graduated from New London-Spicer High School where he was a three-sport athlete in cross country, basketball, and track & field. Thompson has two younger brothers who are college athletes at Concordia College and the University of Wisconsin – River Falls.
