Alex Peterson is entering her 11th season as an assistant coach for the volleyball team. She has served on the North Central University women's volleyball coaching staff as an assistant coach since the 2015 season.

At NCU, Peterson specializes in training defensive technique, and focuses her efforts on the defensive specialists group. Prior to her tenure at NCU, Peterson coached beach and indoor volleyball for the Minnesota Volleyball Headquarters for three years, and was the Junior Varsity volleyball coach at the University of Northwestern (UNW), St. Paul for one year. A 2015 graduate of the University of Northwestern, St. Paul, Peterson played for the Eagles 2012 squad that won the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference tournament and made the NCAA Division III National Tournament. After that season, she was awarded the Natalie Carroll Award for servant leadership. Upon graduating from UNW, Peterson obtained her degree in Elementary Education with Communication Arts and Literature Endorsement.

Outside of coaching, Peterson teaches sixth grade language arts at Highview Middle School and enjoys reading and camping in her spare time. She currently lives in New Brighton, Minnesota with her husband Andy.
