MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Despite an improved hitting percentage, the Rams were unable to pick up any wins in matches versus Finlandia University and Northland College. In the two match triangular held in Ashland, WI, North Central fell by a score of 3-1 in both. The losses drop the Rams to 6-20 on the season and 9th place in the UMAC conference standings.
Match Vitals
- Errors proved to be the downfall in both matches as the Rams accumulated totals of 48 errors (Finlandia) and 56 errors (Northland) on the evening.
- In a nice bright spot for North Central University, Emma Middendorf had a great night at the net recording hitting percentages of .412 (Finlandia) and .440 (Northland) while tallying up 6 blocks between the two.
Match Recaps
- In the first match of the night, the Rams went up against non-conference foe, Finlandia University. After winning the first set by a score of 25-21, the Rams would drop the second set in heart breaking fashion by a score of 26-24. The Rams were never quite able to shake off the tough second set loss and would eventually lose the remaining two sets y scores of 25-13 and 25-18. Against Finlandia, Emma Middendorf and Emily DiGiorgio held the line up front with solid hitting performances. Defensively, Maddie Stocker and Rachel Beckman would provide solid efforts for the Rams.
- During the second match of the evening, North Central found itself in a heated battle with conference rival Northland College. After splitting the first two sets, the Rams were plagued by errors while dropping the remaining two sets. The match saw a season high 56 errors committed by the Rams as they struggled to maintain any type of consistency on the match. Emma Middendorf and Maddie Stocker both put together solid outings for the Rams, but neither was enough to lift the Rams to the victory.
