- The loss drops the Rams to 7-6-2 (3-5-2 UMAC).
Game Recap
- The contest started with both teams unable to gain much separation from the other. Superior continued to come away with opportunities in the first period, but the Ram's defense was able to make play after play, halting their scoring attempts. The effort was led by senior goalkeeper, Gabe Hartwig, who acted as a brick wal for most of the contest. The Ram's tenacious effort on the defensive end sent them to the break with the score still knotted up at 0-0. The Rams could still not find an offensive spark in the second half, failing to find many opportunities. Superior was the first team to break the ice, coming away with a goal in the 51st minute to take a 1-0 lead. The Yellowjackets added a little more distance between the Rams with another goal in the 61st minute of the contest to push the lead to 2-0. The Rams looked to answer in the 63rd minute, but the shot attempt by Henry Puchuela was sent back by the crossbar. North Central was able to hold Superior scoreless in the final minutes, but could not find an offensive push as they would eventually fall to the Yellowjackets by a score of 2-0.
