MINNEAPOLIS, Minn - The North Central University (NCU) men's basketball team hosted the College of St. Scholastica for an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) matchup in Clark Danielson Gymnasium on Wednesday night. • The Rams shot 30 percent (7-for-23) from three-point range
  • The loss moves the Rams to a 4-7 overall record and an 0-3 mark in UMAC play

Game Recap
  • The Rams rode the strong start in the first half from freshman Micah Filer to take an early lead in the first half. At the 7:14 mark in the first half, Filer hit a pull-up three point shot to extend the Rams lead to the largest of the half at nine points. Scholastica continued to chip away at the narrow lead as they relied heavily on shot selections behind the arc. After a tightly contested first half, the Rams led 38-34 at the break over the Saints. Filer led all scorers with 17 points in the first half as he hit three shots from behind the arc. The Saints made some second half adjustments to taper Filer's scoring opportunities as they kept the freshman guard scoreless through the first ten minutes of the second half. Both teams traded baskets in the early going of the second half as the Rams held a narrow advantage. The Saints eventually took the lead for the first time since less than 3 minutes into the game, this time the Saints led with 8:26 remaining in the game. NCU quickly tied the contest back up after Jared High hit a free-throw. Both teams continued to trade baskets but ultimately the game would be decided in the final five minutes of play. CSS continued to put the pressure on as NCU. The Rams trailed by 8 in the final minutes but battled back, cutting the lead to  70-69 with less than a minute remaining after Jared High hit a free-throw at the line. Micah Filer later hit a crucial three-point basket after a missed dunk from the Saints to tie the score up at 72-72. In the final seconds a loose ball led to a shot from Sam Thompson that went in as time expired for a 74-72 St. Scholastica victory.
