Game Recap
- NCU was able to jump out to an early lead on Monday through the first seven minutes of the game, but the Sabercats did not fold. Maranatha was able to put together a 5-0 run in the final three minutes of the quarter to take a 10-9 lead as the two entered period number two. North Central was able to find an answer of their own as they battled back to take the lead midway through the quarter. Unfortunately, for the Rams, that would be the last time they saw a lead in the period as Maranatha started to find their offensive stride. After trailing for much of the second half, the Rams found a spark courtesy of Betty Rand and she knocked down two huge 3-pointers that capped a 7-0 run for the Rams, taking a 51-46 lead with 36 seconds to play in the third quarter. In a game of lead changes, the Sabercats battled back to take the lead early in the final period thanks an 8-0 of their own. Luckily for the Rams they were able to find the hot hand late in the period as Allison Bulthuis stole the momentum and the lead for the Rams with back-to-back threes on back-to-back possessions. Bulthuis knocked down two free throws with three seconds left to push her point total to 19 and ice the 69-62 victory for the Rams.
