New Ulm, Minn. - The North Central University (NCU) women's basketball team opened Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play on Wednesday night against Martin Luther College. The Rams (5-2, 1-0) defeated the Knights by a score of 60-48 for their third consecutive win. The win also moves the team to a 5-2 start and a 1-0 mark in the conference. The 5-2 record is the best start for any NCU women's basketball team in the history of the program.

- NCU would take an early advantage after outscoring MLC 19-11 after one quarter. Naomi Hagstrom, Allison Bulthuis, and Haleigh Filer led the way scoring for the Rams early on. MLC would continue to match the Rams as both teams went into halftime separated by just seven points 29-22 in favor of the Rams. Bulthuis and Hagstrom both reached double figures with ten points each. NCU extended their lead with a strong third quarter, outscoring MLC 16-7. NCU would extend the lead to 19 in the fourth quarter. Martin Luther continued to battle to the final whistle as the Knights cut into the lead, as the Rams ultimately prevailed by a twelve point spread.

- NCU will have a few days to prepare for their next contest on Saturday, December 8th as they will travel across the Twin Cities to the University of Northwestern-St. Paul. Tip-off is slated for 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
