MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --North Central University (NCU) squared off with Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) rival, the University of Northwestern (UNW) Eagles. The Eagles were impressive from the first whistle in this one, scoring five goals in the 1st half and 4 in the second en route to a 9-1 victory over NCU.

On a cold afternoon, the Rams struggled to find a spark to their offense for much of the contest, while the Eagles came started with some immediate offensive aggression. After UNW grabbed thelead in the 13th minute,
Mikel Vacek made a huge play just two minutes later to tie the game back up at 1-1. Seeing their lead slip away, the Eagles found an immediate answer to the Ram's score with one of their own in the 16th minute. After takiing the 2-1 lead, the Eagles did not look back. UNW added three more goals in the first half and found the net 4 more times in the final 45 minutes as they ran away with a 9-1 conference victory.

The Rams will enjoy a week break from competition as they rest up in preparation for the stretch run off the season. The next matchup for NCU will be a road visit to nearby St. Bonifacius, Minn. for a match with Crown College. Kickoff for that marquee matchup is slated for 1:00 p.m.
