MANKATO, Minn. -- Fresh off punching their ticket to their first Upper Midwest Athletic Conference postseason berth, the North Central University (NCU) women's basketball team hit the road with an opportunity to upgrade their playoff seeding against the Vikings of Bethany Lutheran College. The Rams battled with the Vikings for much of the contest, but the Vikings eventually broke down NCU behind an efficient offensive performance as they cruised to an 89-60 victory over the Rams.

- The contest began as a back and forth battle as each team continued to trade bucket after bucket. The first half was full as runs, the Rams saw the Vikings push the lead to 11 just to cut it back down to 6 with a 5-0 to close the 1st quarter. The Vikings caught fire from behind the arc in the second quarter as they manufactured a 12-2 run that pushed the lead back to double digits and sent the Rams to the break trailing 41-27. The final 20 minutes was much of the same for the Rams as they could not find an answer for the Viking's offense who finished with two 20 point scorers. The Vikings kept their foot on the gas behind a 51.4% shooting performance in the second half. Even with an impressive performance by Naomi Hagstrom , the Rams were unable to mount much of a comeback as they eventually fell to the Vikings 80-69 on the road.
