ST. PAUL, Minn - The North Central University men's tennis team was in action on on Friday in a pair of matches with Northwestern-St. Paul and Minnesota-Morris. The match against Northwestern St. Paul was an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference matchup while the match against Minnesota-Morris was a non-conference matchup. The Rams fell to the UNW Eagles 9-0 and fell to the UMM Cougars 6-3.
In the match against Northwestern-St. Paul the Rams were unable to pickup a set victory as all nine matches were swept by the Eagles. In the match against Minnesota-Morris
Danny Williams led the way in singles play as he picked up a victory in the no.5 singles position. Williams dropped the first set 3-6 before winning the second set in a tiebreaker. Williams surged to the finish by winning the tiebreaker set 10-8.
Noah Ramsby picked up a 6-3 victory in the first set in the no.3 singles position before dropping the second set 2-6. Ramsby fell in the tiebreaker 6-10.
In the doubles matchups NCU was able to take the no.2 and no.3 doubles matchups.
Noah Ramsby and Rodrigo de Mendoza paired together to pick up an 8-4 victory.
Danny Williams and Josh Ekong played together in the no.3 singles position as they picked up the victory 8-7 (7-3).
The Rams will look to their lone remaining match of the regular season as they will travel to Minnesota-Morris on Thursday, April 25 for a 3:00 p.m. start for a non-conference matchup.
