MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - North Central University (NCU) hosted their final regular season doubleheader of the 2019 season on Thursday afternoon as the College of St. Scholastica traveled to Minneapolis. The Saints came into the afternoon having just clinched a spot in the conference post season, looking to hold their strain on the number three seed. The Rams battled with the Saints but were unable to slow them down as Scholastica found their bats early and often as they cruised to the series sweep with an 11-0 victory in game one and second consecutive 11-0 victory in game two.
GAME ONE RECAP
The Saints bolted out of the gate in the first inning as they capitalized on the Ram's blunders, scoring four runs on three errors in the inning. The Saints showed no signs of slowing down in inning number two, as a double and a single highlighted a string of runs that resulted in two more runs for Scholastica. The Rams looked to answer the Saint's movement on the scoreboard with some runs of their own in the bottom half of the frame as they connecting on two singles in the inning off the bats of Megan Paulson and Carissa Garza, but NCU could not get them across the plate. Scholastica was held scoreless in the 3rd inning, but they would plate five more runs in the final two innings as they cruised to the 11-0 victory over the Rams in game one. Emma Bushey suffers the loss for the Rams in the 11-0 loss, but only six of those runs were recorded as earned.
GAME TWO RECAP
The Saints continued their offensive momentum in game two as they exploded for seven hits in the first two innings, highlighted by two doubles, a triple and a home run, that resulted in a 8-0 lead for Scholastica. As the Saint's offense was humming, the Rams could not find a spark from the plate to keep pace. NCU produced just two hits in game number two, as they were unable to figure out the Scholastica pitching. St. Scholastica added three more insurance runs in throughout the ballgame en route to their second 11-0 victory of the afternoon.

North Central University will make the short trip to the University of Northwestern in St. Paul, Minnesota, tomorrow for their regular season finale as they matchup with the Eagles.
