Game Recap
- After the kickoff from the Rams, the Royals put their foot on the gas, holding the ball on the Ram's side of the pitch for a majority of the first five minutes. The Rams remained patient, staying steady on the defensive end. After breaking finally through the Royal's attack, the Rams found themselves with a corner kick in the early going. Senior, Henry Puchuela, sent a bender towards the front of the goal and Andrew Botz was able to send it to the back of the net for the first goal of the game in just the 6th minute of the contest. Trailing, Bethel continued their aggressive approach. Minutes after falling behind 1-0, Bethel executed a give and go that ended successfully to knot the score back up at 1-1. Neither team found much separation in the waning minutes of the first half as the two went to the break still tied. Both teams battled in the second half, with neither one finding any success on the scoreboard. Bethel had many goal scoring opportunities, but the Rams defense, led by goalkeeper Jared Buse, continued to send shots away. With time ticking off the clock, and overtime hanging over both team's heads, the Royals shimmied through the Rams with a takeaway and a quick attack that resulted in a goal that put Bethel up 2-1. The Rams failed to come up with an answer in the final minutes as their effort fell just short with Bethel taking the 2-1 victory.
