CLERMONT, FLA. -- North Central University (NCU) was back in action on Tuesday afternoon for day two of their trip down south. Standing in the way of NCU was a buzzsaw in the form of a hot Marywood University Pacers ball club. The Rams still could not quite shake their hitting woes, struggling again to find a spark at the plate. With the Rams unable to manufacture much offense, slowing down the Pacers proved to be an even tougher task. Marywood entered winning their last two games including a 16 run performance earlier in the day, and they did not let up as they cruised past the Rams.
GAME RECAP
Emma Bushey headed to the mound for the second straight day as she hoped to turn the tides from the day before. Unfortunately, Bushey found herself facing some red hot hitters. The Pacer's Hailey Rapisardi and Kary Gillette combined for four hits and a couple of RBIs while highlighting a group that saw multiple Pacers with at least two runs batted in.
Even while facing a set of hitters who were clearly locked in at the plate, Bushey had some impressive moments. The Ram's veteran recorded 4 strikeouts in her 4.0 innings pitched and registered 24 first pitch strikes on the afternoon. The quiet bats were just too much to overcome as the Pacers pulled away for a 15-0 victory over NCU.
Next Up
NCU will play their third game in three days as they will battle with Penn State - Dubios tomorrow morning. First pitch for this contest is slated for 9:00 a.m. (EST) down in Clermont, Florida.
