Softball hangs tough in tight match up with Penn Sate (Dubois)

Box Score CLERMONT, FLA. -- North Central University (NCU) was back in action for the third time in three days. The Rams went to battle with Penn Sate University - Dubois in their final contest before an off day tomorrow. The Rams held the Lady Lions scoreless through the first two innings, but Penn State manufactured 6 runs in the final four innings while holding the Rams hitless en route to a 6-0 victory over the Rams.

GAME RECAP
After a few tough battles in the last two days, the Rams effort did not waver on Wednesday morning. Emma Bushey was impressive on the mound in the early going for the navy and gold. Bushey manufactured a 1-2-3 inning in the bottom of the first and another quick inning in the bottom half of the second, keeping the Lady Lions scoreless thorough two innings.

With their ace on the mound in a groove, the Rams could not quite figure out Penn State's own ace, Lizzy Scott. Scott threw a complete game for the home team while registering 10 total strikeouts and holding the Rams hitless in the ball game. Scott's performance was enough to do the Rams in. While the Rams struggled at the plate, the Lady Lions eventually broke the 0-0 tie in the third inning and did not look back as they pulled away for a 6-0 defeat of the Rams.
