ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. -- The North Central University (NCU) volleyball team traveled to Crown College for a
Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) face-off. And just like last time, the Rams proved to be the better team as they shut out the Storm in three sets (25-13, 26-24, 26-24).
Game Recap
Right from the start, NCU was ready to go as they went on a 7-1 run in the first set. This first run was too much for CC to handle as the Rams won the first set by 12 points. A number of the Rams played excellent in the afternoon win.
Emily DiGiorgio (Ironwood, MI, Luther L. Wright High School),
Morgan Delange (Corsica, SD, Corsica-Stickney High School), and
Hailey Lerfald (Wanamingo, MN, Kenyon-Wanamingo High School) all had eight kills each.
DiGiorgio had a .467 hitting percentage, way above any of the competition. Following close behind these three was
Makayla Krohnberg (Blaine, MN, Blaine High School)who had six kills along with 11 digs. The second two sets were a bit more challenging for NCU, but they held their composure and still came out on top. At the end of the second set, two service aces by
DiGiorgio and a mistake by the Storm gave the win to the Rams. Similarly, in the third set, the final blow was given by libero
Hannah Fischer's (Kenyon, MN, Kenyon Wanamingo High School)Â service ace. NCU dominated this game in every area having almost double the points, the kills, and service aces than CC did. With this victory, the Rams completed their sweep of the Storm this season.
