Game Vitals
  • There were a total of 22 fouls in the game along with one yellow card for the Lumberjacks.
  • NCU held NC to one goal in the second half.

Game Recap

After a game the previous day, the Rams fought to keep up their mental toughness as they got tired physically. Despite their best efforts, the Lumberjacks were able to score twice in the opening four minutes. NC netted two more goals in the first half as well. NCU fought back and generated most of their offense in the last ten minutes onf the first half including a low shot from Weston Buckley (Budapest, HU, International Christian School of Budapest) which was saved by the Lumberjack keeper.Alex Loukinen (Little Falls, MN, Little Falls High School) also had a shot that just went wide to the left and following Loukinen's shot was one from Jordan Smith (Orlando, FL, Orlando Christian Prep) that was saved by the goalie.

The Ram's backline and midfield got most of the action today. Evan Ackley (Sun Prairie, WI, Sun Prairie High School), Camilo Casas (Cape Coral, FL, Ida S. Baker High School), and Tyler Johnsen (Lindstrom, MN, Chisago Lakes High School) was a core group the held the team together throughout the 90 minutes. Also receiving lots of action was NCU's goalkeeper, Sam Thurston (Crystal, MN, Robbinsdale Cooper), who had four saves. Because of the multiple game weekend, NCU was able to give some field time to their bench. The Ram's were able to hold the number three seeded team in the UMAC to just one goal in the second half and battled NC hard throughout the match,

Looking Ahead

This coming Wednesday the Rams will take on UMAC opponent, Martin Luther College, for the second time this season. The game will be held under the lights at NCU at 8 pm.
