- Each goal, for both teams, was assisted by a teammate.
Game Recap
The Rams were ready to get back into conference play after their nonconference match earlier this week and playing the Jacks for the first time this season, NCU was prepared for a competitive match. Unfortunately, three of the Rams starters,
Elliott Lebsack (Kearney, NE, Kearney High School),
Rodrigo De Mendoza (Panama City, Panama, Crossroads Christian Academy), and
Weston Buckley (Budapest, HU, International Christian School of Budapest), were out for the game due to do injuries. But every player on the Rams stepped up, and regardless of the situation, NCU fought hard throughout the whole 90 minutes.
Tyler Johnsen (Lindstrom, MN, Chisago Lakes High School) was back in action for the Rams and was a tremendous help on the defensive as he was able to organize the backline. The Jacks found their way into the net twice by the 68th minute. However, NCU's attack was brewing and
Adam Vang (Green Bay, WI, Green Bay Southwest High School) netted a goal in the 81st minute, assisted by
Carson Kleiber (Wausau, WI, Wausau West High School), his first collegiate assist.
Vang was a powerhouse in today's match, leading the Rams with four shots and three on goal. NCU pushed until the very end, but were able to get that second goal before the final whistle blew, ending the game with a final score of 2-1.
