Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's soccer secures 3 to 1 home victory over Storm

Minneapolis, MINN -- North Central University (NCU) men's soccer was back on their home turf. The Rams faced off against the Crown College (CC) Storm for the first time since October 2019. It was a fast-paced, aggressive battle throughout the entire match on Elliot Park Field on this beautiful spring afternoon, but the Rams were to come out on top 3-1.

Game Vitals

- Rams out-shot the Storm 25-12.

Game Recap

In the first period tonight, NCU was able to keep the ball on Crown's side of the pitch for a majority of the first 20 minutes before they netted their first goal of the afternoon when Keaton Goetz (Austin, MN, Austin High School) found the top left of the net to put the Rams on the board. The Rams followed this up with another just two minutes later, where Weston Buckley (Budapest, HU, International Christian School of Budapest) got the ball past the keeper with an assist from Jerad Buse (Kearney, NE, Kearney High School). The Storm were able to overcome the imposing Rams backfield and net their lone goal of the night.

Coming into the second half up 2-1, North Central made sure to keep their momentum created in the first period. After both teams played a physical and aggressive 73 minutes, sophomore Adam Vang (Green Bay, WI, Green Bay Southwest High School) capitalized on the joint attack between him and Elliott Lebsack (Kearney, NE, Kearney High School) to secure the final goal of the night. Buse nearly had a goal of his own in the waning minutes of the competition but was called back to end the match with a final score of 3-1, Rams.
