MORRIS, Minn. -- North Central University (NCU) men's soccer journeyed up north to Morris, MN to face the University of Minnesota Morris (UMM) Cougars on Saturday afternoon. After a 3-1 win over Crown College last Saturday, NCU men's soccer looked to ride their momentum into their match up with UMM. However, the Cougars took this afternoon's conference matchup in a 0 to 2 win over the Rams.
Game Recap
The Cougars were quick to score after a free kick just 59 seconds into the match. They were quick to follow their first goal up with another at the 13-minute mark. In the first period, North Central was only able to get off two shots as opposed to Morris' 10. In the second period the Rams were able to close this deficit to 7 shots to the Cougars' 8, but they were unable to find the back of the net this afternoon.
Elliott Lebsack (Kearney, NE, Kearney High School) was the major offensive threat for NCU, as the sophomore managed three total shots on goal. Even with North Central able to tally three corner kicks in the second half, the Morris defensive front held the Rams from capitalizing on the opportunities. The 90 minutes expired with a final score of 0-2.
