St. Paul, MN- The North Central University Rams men's basketball team took their first road trip of the season to take on the Macalester College Scots. The Scots would pull ahead in the final seconds to give them a 73-70 victory over the Rams.

The Rams jumped out of the gates fast as they dominated all aspects of the game and secured a 21-3 lead to kick things off. After a slow start, the Scots bounced back. The Scots would shoot lights out and tighten up on defense as they would go on a 32-13 run to end the first half.  The score at the half would end at 35-34 in favor of Macalester. 

The start of the second-half started off in the same direction the first half ended. Within the first 5 minutes of the half, the Scots would go on a 17-6 run giving them the 52-40 lead. The Rams wouldn't lose hope as they found their rhythm again to keep the contest close. Before you would know it the comeback was almost complete as the score sat at 71-70 in the final seconds. After the Scots hit a couple clutch free throws to take a three-point lead, the urgency for the Rams elevated. With one shot to take a three to tie the game, the Rams were unable to hit the shot in triple coverage at the buzzer, and the game would end with a score of 73-70 with the Scots taking the win.

• Caden Freetly (Farmington, MN): 15 points, 4/5 from 3-point range
• Tanner Holtman (Aurora, CO): 9 points, 4 rebounds, and a steal

The Rams will continue the road trip as they face off against Central Christian College on Friday, November 18 at 3:00pm
