Storm Lake, IA- The North Central University Rams women's basketball team hit the road to take on the Buena Vista University Beavers. The game was neck and neck but unfortunately, the Beavers would come out with the win 70-68.
The Rams came out in the first quarter like they were still in shoot around, as they scored a season-high most points per quarter with 28 points. Having the hot hand early, the Rams held a nice eight-point lead at the end of the first quarter. The Beaver's defense would tighten up in the second as they held the Rams to thirteen points and scored fifteen of their own. Heading into the half the Rams lead with a score of 41-35.
The Beaver's halftime adjustments were enough to compete with the Rams as they would win the next two quarters. The Rams held a 68-67 lead in the final seconds as the tensions were high. The Beavers took a couple of trips to the free throw line and missed a couple of late shots and the Beavers pulled away to take the 70-68 victory over the Rams. The difference in the game was the Beavers winning the points in the paint battle 38-32, winning in bench points 28-12, and the fouls 13-18.
