Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Downtown U Proves to Be Too Much for the Trinity Bible Lions

Minneapolis, MN -- North Central University (NCU) takes down the Trinity Bible College (TBC) Lions. NCU got out to a lead early and never looked back as they proved to be too much for the Lions to handle. The final score ended 88-71 with the Rams firmly in charge.

Commanding the game from the beginning, the Rams were out front 14-0 just over four minutes into the game. All five of the NCU starters were able to find a bucket during that stretch, sharing the ball with ease. Things would start to slow down after the hot start as TBC was able to match the blue and gold step for step the remainder of the first half. At the break, the lead remained at 14, finishing at 36-22 in favor of the Rams. Each team finished with shooting percentages under 40%.

After the break, it was a different story for both teams. Bucket after bucket, both teams got hot and were both shooting over a 50% clip in the second half. Even with the high percentage shooting, the Rams were able to control the game, extending their lead to as many as 28. Offensive rebounds were the key to the success for NCU as they were able to pull down 11 of them, helping them get 20 second-chance points in the back half of the game. With a large lead, Downtown U was able to hold on to take the win in the closing minutes.
