Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Lacrosse competes in first game in two years

FOND DU LAC, Wisc. -- After months of waiting, the North Central University (NCU) lacrosse team finally played in their first match of the 2022 season, their first game since 2019. The Rams took on the Sabres out of Marian University (MU) this Wednesday afternoon, ending in a 23-1 loss for NCU.

Game Recap

Right from the start, MU attacked NCU's defense scoring the first goal of the game in the first few seconds. The Sabres hammered the Rams in the first two periods, scoring seven goals in the first, and ten goals in the second. However, NCU persisted despite the score. Jaydon Crim (Hudson, WI, Hudson High School), one of the Rams biggest offensive threats and experienced players, got three shots off in the first period and finally sent one home about a minute into the third period. Crim led the Rams with five shots and three shots on goal. Freshman Keegan Gare (Lakeville, MN) also put some pressure on MU's goalie with two shots, both on goal. Corey Evers (Granger, IA) added two shots along with one shot from Tommy Fox (Springfield, VA, Homeschool). In total, NCU got ten shots off, five of which were on goal.

The Rams held the Sabres to only three goals in both the third and fourth periods as they got settled into the game and picked up their defensive energy. NCU's goalie Braden Davenport (Portage, WI) saved 13 goals in his college debut. Isaac Griffin (Lakeville, MN) and Corban Entinger (Glenwood, IA) were awarded three face-offs each winning the ball for their teammates. While the score wasn't what they hoped, the Rams were thankful for the chance to play and are eager to prove themselves in the next one.
