Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Gets Shutout By UNW on the Road

St. Paul, MN -- Coming off a huge home win over Northland College on Wednesday, the North Central University (NCU) would take the short trip to St. Paul to take on the University of Northwestern (UNW) Eagles for the second time this season. The first time these two squads met, the Eagles would dominate in an 8-0 victory on NCU's home turf. Hoping to carry momentum into today's match with UNW would prove to be a challenge, as the Rams would fall by a score of 5-0.

UNW would take control of the game early as they were able to get off seven shots within the first 10 minutes of the game. The Eagles would take a total of 21 shots in the first half to NCU's two. Out of the 21 shots, eight of them were on target. UNW would score two goals in the 12th and 30th minutes of the game. NCU keeper, Abigail Herbolsheimer would pick up six saves out of the eight shots on goal. However, the Rams would not find the back of the net as they would go into halftime trailing by a score of 2-0.

Coming out of the break, the Eagles would hold on to their momentum from the first half as they would be able to score in the 54th minute to make it 3-0. They would follow that score with two more goals in the 60th and 67th minutes, taking a 5-0 lead over the Rams. The Rams were unable to get past the UNW defenders as they only got one shot off in the second half. Herbolsheimer would total 13 saves on the afternoon. Time would run out and Northwestern would walk away with a 5-0 victory over North Central.
