Minneapolis, MN -- Tonight, the North Central University (NCU) volleyball team returned to Clark Danielson Gymnasium after spending a weekend in Wisconsin. The Rams squared off with the Bethany Lutheran College (BLC) Vikings in search of their second UMAC win this season. after going down two sets to none, NCU would display their resilience earning a dominant third-set win to stay alive. However, the Vikings would return the favor with a rather dominant set of their own to close this one out 3-1.
The first set would swing in the Ram's favor early, as NCU was able to open up a 10-5 lead. However, that lead would quickly dwindle as the Vikings would go on a 13-2 run to turn the tides. North Central would commit 9 errors to BLC's 2, as Bethany would take set one 25-17. The majority of set two would go in Bethany's favor winning 25-19 and going up 2-0 in the match. Head Coach Faith Ooms would challenge her team following the 2-0 deficit, and boy would the Rams respond. NCU would tally 11 kills and clean up some errors with just 2 in this succeeding set. Freshman outside hitter Sydney Carlson would set up in a big way with 6 kills and 1 block. Setter Grace Brigson stepped up her game as well, assisting on 9 of the team's 11 kills and recording a block and service ace. the junior is coming off a fabulous week where she was named UMAC Setter of the Week. Not happy with their set three performance, BLC would dominate in the early parts of set four, jumping to a 6-0 lead. They would continue their strong play by having 16 total kills and ending the game with a 25-8 win. Sydney Carlson led the way for the Rams with 15 total kills, 11 digs, and 3 assists. North Central would lose 3-1 at home.

The Rams will stay at home this Friday for an evening contest with the University of Minnesota Morris Cougars at 7:00 p.m.
