Minneapolis, MN -- North Central University's (NCU) Softball team played Augsburg University in a doubleheader today (3/30). They would go on to lose both games, notching two total hits on the day. The Rams would make mistakes in the field which would cost them runs and they couldn't catch up.
Game 1 Recap
Carla Mendoza would start on the mound for game one. The defense gave up a run in the first off of an error. They would give Augsburg six more runs in the second and third innings. Delaney Riddle would secure North Centrals' only hit of the first game, with a single to center field. North Central would surrender one more run in the bottom of the fourth. The game would end in five innings, with a score of 8-0 in favor of the Auggies.
Game 2 Recap
Mendoza started game two as well for the Rams. The first inning wouldn't go as planned for the Rams as they would give up eight runs in the bottom of the first. They would have five errors in the first inning leading to six of those eight runs being unearned. The defense would improve throughout the game, but two more runs in the bottom of the third would stretch the lead to ten for Augsburg. Catcher Aurora Prettyman would tally North Central's only hit in game number two. North Central University would lose game two 11-0 in five innings.
