Morris, MN -- North Central University's Softball traveled to Morris to take on the University of Minnesota Morris Cougars in a doubleheader. They would get caught on their heels and would go down big in game one. Game two was more of the same as the Cougars would take both games and the first two games of the series.
Game 1 Recap:
Carla Mendoza started on the bump for NCU and it did not go as planned for the Rams. They would get two hits in the top of the first, but nothing would happen with those two hits. The defense for the Rams would end up giving up 15 runs in the first alone. In the top of the second inning, Charley Kastl drew a walk, and Katrina Diaz drew a walk a batter later, which flipped the order to the top. Angela Orozco hit a single to center field, which scored Kastl. This would be the only run for the Rams. Morris would score three more runs in the bottom half of the inning, making the game 18-1, which was the final for game one.
Game 2 Recap:
Mendoza was back on the mound in game two. Orozco would start the game off with a single, but the Rams wouldn't be able to score her. The defense would tighten up for the Rams, not allowing a run through two innings. In the bottom of the third, the Cougars would score seven runs gaining a 7-0 lead. Minnesota Morris would score two more runs in their half of the fourth inning and would seal the game in five. Final for game two was 9-0.
