Rams Get Stung By YellowJackets

Roseville, MN -- North Central's Baseball team (NCU) played a doubleheader against The University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets. Luck was not in favor of NCU as they would lose both games in the doubleheader. High winds heavily affected both teams.

Game one:

Devin O'Dell started on the mound for NCU and Superior scored a quick run in the first. O'Dell would get out of a jam in the top of the second, but the Yellow Jackets would unload a haymaker and score nine runs in the top of the third. After giving up another run in the fourth, making the game 11-0. Casey Welsh would hit a one-out single starting a small rally from the Rams. Michael Escalante would be walked, then Julian Encinas would hit a double to right field, scoring both runners. Superior would get another run in the fifth. Kyle Huerth would reach on a fielder's choice, then Daniel Montana would hit a double to center, scoring Huerth. This would be the final run for the Rams as the game would end in 7 innings, with a score of 13-3.

Game two:

John Ankerfelt started for game two and Superior chased him out of the game after scoring 9 runs in 2.2 innings. In the top of the second, Teagan Burch hit a double to left field and got to third on an error from the shortstop. Encinas would hit his second double of the day, scoring Burch. This would be the only run for NCU. The Yellow Jackets would continue to pile on runs and they would not let up. The Game ended in 7 innings with a score of 25-1.
