Roseville, MN -- North Central University's baseball team had twelve hits in the loss to Minnesota Morris (Cougars). The Rams would battle hard until the game spiraled out of control for them. They would have multiple people with a multi-hit game.
Christian Rodriguez opened the game on the mound for NCU. The team would surrender two runs in the top of the first but would score a run of their own in the bottom of the inning, thanks to an RBI from Teagan Burch. The Rams had a promising second inning, but couldn't tie the game in the bottom of the second with bases loaded. The Cougars would score another run in the top of the third, making the score 3-1. The defense for the Rams would give up five more runs in the top of the fifth. They started to rally in the bottom of the inning, with Kyle Huerth reaching on an error, then Burch hitting a double. Casey Welsh advanced Burch to third with a single to left field, and Nate Boyer would follow that up with an RBI single of his own. Morris scored a run in the top of the sixth, bringing the score to 9-3. In the bottom of the seventh,Daniel Montana would hit a single to right field and Burch would hit a home run to left field, giving him his second extra-base hit on the day. The Blue and Gold would collapse in the top of the eighth, letting eight runs cross the plate. North Central would lose the game 17-5, in eight innings.
Key Performers:
- Teagan Burch (St. Paul, MN) went 3-4 at the plate with four out of the five RBIs for the Rams. He also hit his first home run of the season.
- Nate Boyer (Phoenix, AZ) hit 2 singles in four plate appearances, tallying an RBI and a stolen base.
- Daniel Montana (Tucson, AZ) had a solid day at the plate with three hits.

North Central's Baseball team will return to action against Minnesota-Morris, Saturday, April 8th in Northwestern with the first pitch at 9 am.
