St. Paul, MN – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced its list of this year's golf award winners. This year's awards were nominated and voted on by the conference head coaches. After a historic season, NCU Men's Golf saw five golfers receive honors, including the Coach of the Year award given to
Greg Sweeney for the Rams' championship title at this year's conference meet. On the women's side, senior
Victoria Sanders was named Second Team All-Conference and awarded the Sportsmanship Award.

Victoria Sanders (Sr. | Platte City, MO) was awarded Second Team All-Conference and the Sportsmanship Award in her senior campaign. Sanders competed as an individual at this year's UMAC Championship Meet, where she shot 92, 88, and 96 for a total of 276 (+60) on the weekend. This earned her 9th place overall, the highest individual finish by an NCU women's golfer since 2015. On the year, Victoria averaged 90.4 through 7 rounds played. This was over a 6-stroke improvement from her junior season. She shot her best round of 87 (+15) on day one of the NCCAA Regional at the Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend, IN.
Jacob Sweeney (Gr. | Madera, CA) earned First Team All-Conference honors for the fifth year in a row. The graduate capped off the year with a 3rd overall finish at the 2024 UMAC Championship Meet. Sweeney posted rounds of 83, 75, and 75 to shoot +17 on the weekend. On the season, he averaged 77.5 through 10 rounds. His best round was a 71 (par) on day two of the Maverick Fall Brawl at the Troy Burne Golf Club in Hudson, WI.
Jacob Brown (So. | Rochester, MN) was awarded Second Team All-Conference in his sophomore campaign. Brown finished the year tied for 14th place at the conference meeting, shooting 82, 83, and 81 for a three-round total of 246 (+30). Jacob averaged 78.4 on the season, 9th in the UMAC and 2nd on the team. Brown's best round of the fall was a 73 (+2) on day two of the Culvers Edgewood Classic at the Glen Erin Golf Club in Janesville, WI.
Hector Avila (Fr. | McAllen, TX) was named Second Team All-Conference after a sensational freshman season. Avila came up big at the UMAC Championships with a meet total of 238 (+22) to finish 2nd for the Rams and 4th overall in his first conference championship. On the season, he averaged 79.0 through 10 rounds to finish 12th overall in the UMAC. He shot his best round of the year of 72 (+1) on day one of the Culvers Edgewood Classic at the Glen Erin Golf Club in Janesville, WI.
Noah Klapmeier (Fr. | Mora, MN) earned UMAC All-Conference Honorable Mention in his first season as a Ram. At this year's conference championship, Klapmeier came through with his best round of the meet with a 75 (+3) on day three to help seal the conference title. Noah was 4th best on the team, averaging 80.5 through 10 rounds of golf. He shot his best round of the year of 75 (+3) at the UMAC Preview and Day 3 of the Championships at the Pebble Creek Golf Course in Becker, MN.
Cameron Jackson (So. | Poplar Bluff, MO) was named UMAC All-Conference Honorable Mention in his second season at NCU. The sophomore showed major improvements in year two, improving his season average by over two whole strokes to 81.5 in 2024. Jackson's best round was a 73 (+2) on day two of the Culvers Edgewood Classic at the Glen Erin Golf Club in Janesville, WI. This set a new career-best, 6 strokes better than his previous.
William Burns (Fr. | Lake Charles, LA) received the UMAC Sportsmanship Award for the North Central Men's Gold squad. The newcomer had a season average of 82.3 and a career-best round of 77 (+5) at the MLC Invite at the Oakdale Golf Course in Buffalo Lake, MN.
